This was shot in Montreal at the corner of Ste-Catherine and McGill College in the busiest part of the downtown shopping district at precisely 2 pm , 21 /12/97. It was a sunny , breezy minus ten degree so the crowd moved swiftly to the many entries of the underground shopping malls and paid no attention to the camera.
At the south end of McGill College is the Place Ville marie christmas tree, towering bright even at 2 pm , and at the north end at the foot of Mont Royal is McGill University. All of the major building that you see are linked by large underground mall or metro tunnel , making a huge climate controled underground city protected from heat or cold weather year round. The man selling framed reproductions on the side walk near the camera is also there year round.
